In 1983 a group of Greenwich residents joined together to form the Mianus River Boat and Yacht Club ("MRBYC"). United by a common desire to promote an alternative to what was then available in Greenwich, they constructed their own club house and dock facilities. Nearly 30 years later MRBYC continues its time honored traditions as a volunteer Club and has become a well established boating presence in Greenwich.
Today, MRBYC has nearly 300 dedicated members who share the benefits of being part of the organization. Members contribute their time and talents to the maintenance of the facilities, the organization of boating and fishing programs, social events and every other aspect of the club. Nothing happens without the inherent nature of volunteerism and the sense of community within the organization. Working together and socializing with other members has built many friendships and instills satisfaction in the accomplishments of maintaining the Club while keeping costs under control.
MRBYC's Cos Cob Harbor location, with its well maintained harbor facilities, makes it easy to provide a harmonious environment for both small and big boat membership. In a addition to slip holders the Club has many members whom have joined purely for the social aspect of the Club. MRBYC welcomes new members and guests, has a friendly atmosphere and a home town club feel.
